Served as the 47th Presidentially appointed United States Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina; Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern and Western District of North Carolina and Senior Trial Attorney with the U.S. Justice Department's Public Integrity Section; total of 28 years of service to the Justice Department; Currently as shareholder at Baker Donelson; members of the firm's Government Investigations and White Collar Defense Practice representing individuals and organizations operating in heavily regulated industries (health care, defense, any type of government contracting) and or who are facing federal or state investigation to include Civil Enforcement Demands, possible civil suit, grand jury investigations and/or federal criminal prosecution. Also conduct internal investigations for organizations dealing with all types of challenges including investigations by law enforcement and/or organizational problems. Former Special Assistant to Senator John P. East, U.S. Senate, Washington, D.C.; Former staff assistant to U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elizabeth H. Dole, Washington, D.C.
