Jason Thompson was elected Republican National Committeeman for Georgia in August, 2018.

He serves as Chairman of the RNC Committee on Election Integrity, and is a Member of the RNC Committee on Rules, Member of RNC Committee on Resolutions and a Member of the RNC Committee on Faith Engagement (where he also leads the small choir ensemble).

Jason is an attorney in metro-Atlanta, and serves as President of the Georgia Chapter of the Republican National Lawyers Association. He is the former 7th Congressional District Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, and has worked on campaigns across the United States, including presidential, congressional, state and local.

Jason has been involved in politics since high school, and credits his start to a conversation he had in high school with the late Congressman Jack Kemp, when Kemp left the parade he was in and made his way over to Jason and members of his football team watching from the steps of his father’s store. After talking about football, Kemp spoke to Jason about the importance of political involvement which inspired Jason to become active in politics, saying “If you want to make a difference, you have to get involved”. Two years later he went on to become Chairman of the Minnesota State University College Republicans. Jason believes in the difference one conversation can have in a young person’s life, as it did for him, and he and his wife mentor young people wanting to become involved in politics.

Jason earned his Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law, and his Master's Degree in Public Policy from Regent University, where he served as Chairman of the School of Government.

Jason loves football and is a lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan. He and his wife, Julianne live in Suwanee, Georgia and have two children, Victoria and Hayden.
