Despite attempts to portray himself as a political moderate and folksy Midwesterner, Vice President Kamala Harris’ newly-tapped running mate is wildly out of step with American families. Gov. Tim Walz is facing major pushback from parent groups over his progressive record on children’s health, education, and crime.
Tiffany Justice, cofounder of Moms for Liberty, posted on X, “Tim Walz is the most anti-parent candidate Kamala could have chosen.” Her post links to a video in which Walz dismisses concerns about the loss of education and drop in Minnesota’s standardized test scores as a result of his state’s COVID school lockdowns. Under Walz’ woke policies, his state’s education ranking dropped 12 positions on the CNBC annual education rankings of states.

Justice blasted Walz on Newsmax TV, saying, “Kamala & Tim don’t respect your fundamental right as a parent or your constitutional rights as Americans.”
The most radical, anti-parent policies in the United States, the stuff most people can’t believe is even happening, are happening currently in Minnesota thanks to @Tim_Walz.

Justice joined other mom-led parent groups in blasting Walz’s 2023 transgender law, which helps out-of-state minors seek sex change surgeries, would strip custody from parents who did not consent for their child to be transitioned. She called it a “true violation of parental rights."
“The idea that your child can move into Minnesota and somehow be transitioned behind your back or without your consent or knowledge — is nonsense, " Justice said.
At the time he signed the bill into law, Walz attempted to spin his radical policies as showing “Minnesota… is a welcoming, loving, neighborly state where you are welcome and will be free from discrimination," according to Minnesota Public Radio. Walz attacked Republicans as "bullies" for banning these barbaric treatments for young people in other states.
Parents Defending Education President Nicole Neily also argues that children's education in Minnesota has suffered under Walz's watch by prioritizing progressive ideology over educational standards in the classrooms.

In an interview with The National Desk, Neily noted that while Minnesota school funding went up under Walz, the money didn’t always make it into classrooms.
“Some of the money went towards mandates, like putting tampons into boys bathrooms,” Neily explained. “Is that a good use of finite education dollars at a time when students across the country face significant learning loss because of school closures? It is not, in my opinion,” Neily said.
She also pointed out that Minnesota fourth graders’ proficiency rates are below the national average. “That happened on his watch. Statewide assessments have fallen precipitously across the board, and so by Minnesota's own standards have fallen off the cliff as well,” Neily concluded.
"Gov. Walz's record on education deserves an F - even if we were to grade on a curve," Neily added in an interview to Fox News Digital.
Elizabeth McCauley, a mom of three and co-founder of The Virginia Mavens, accused Walz of taking "marching orders from the teachers unions and transgender community" when it came to children's health issues.
"Whereas many sensible governors are cracking down on the money-making mutilation of young children, Governor Walz has ignored the science and the irreparable harm of, 'gender affirming care' and applauded the mutilation of young children and codified it into law. With such a wild slate of progressive out to lunch priorities, Walz will be no good for our nation and especially for parents and families," McCauley told Fox News Digital.
