A few weeks back a voter intimidation and fraud ring was uncovered in Texas. Today it was uncovered that the funding for the scheme came from a Texas Democratic Party official:
A Fort Worth woman recently indicted on voter fraud charges paid others involved in the scheme with funds provided by a former Tarrant County Democratic Party leader, court documents filed this week say.
. . . The notice, filed Tuesday, states that Sanchez engaged in organized criminal activity in collaboration with her three co-defendants; Stuart Clegg, a former executive director for the Tarrant County Democratic Party; and others.
More details on how the Democratic Party official-led vote fraud ring was allegedly run:
The AG’s office explains that applications for mail-in ballots are first sent to “targeted precincts.” Then, “harvesters attempt either to intercept the ballots outright or to ‘assist’ elderly voters in voting their ballots while ensuring that the votes are cast for the candidates of the harvesters’ choice.”
In many cases, AG officials say, “the voters do not even know their votes have been stolen.”
Investigators began looking into a Fort Worth voter fraud ring and found that so-called fraudulent applications were created by forging signatures, changing information on the applications and then resubmitting them without the knowledge of voters.
It is important to note that the allegations involve fraud and intimidation:
One of those voters, an upset Anita Garay, went to Espino’s office to find out why Sanchez had caused her signature to be forged on an application for the 2015 Fort Worth city council election, the notice states. . . .
The notice states Garay confronted Sanchez at her home the next day and that Sanchez tried to intimidate the voter by threatening to involve her attorney.
The Democratic Party denies this. If this turns out to be true, it will be another sad example of the Democratic Party supporting voter fraud and intimidation.
