Liberal Dark Money Bullied Breyer to Retire, Will it Also Choose His Replacement?

Ever since Joe Biden became President, the Left has pressured Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer to retire through a campaign spearheaded by "dark money" groups like Demand Justice:

After President Biden’s election, Demand Justice started bullying Justice Stephen Breyer into retirement. It ran aggressive ads and drove a mobile billboard around the Supreme Court that said: “Breyer, retire. It’s time for a Black woman Supreme Court justice. There’s no time to waste.”

Demand Justice claimed success for bullying Justice Breyer to retire.

And now the question is whether that same money will effectively make President Biden's selection for an extremist Supreme Court nominee:

Several administration officials who are playing crucial roles in the nomination process have extensive ties to these dark-money groups. Both Paige Herwig — who spearheads the administration’s judicial-nominee-vetting process — and White House press secretary Jen Psaki worked for Demand Justice before joining the administration

Since Justice Breyer's announcement, Demand Justice has signaled that it will spare no expense to install the most radical nominee possible on the Court:

Demand Justice Executive Director Brian Fallon, who worked for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign for president, told CNBC that there’s no limit to how much they may end up spending to help push through Biden’s nominee.

“We expect the Senate will act to confirm Biden’s pick quickly but we will do and spend whatever is needed to ensure that ends up being the case. This is a history-making moment to put the first Black woman on the court,” Fallon recently told CNBC.

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, who many consider to be the frontrunner to replace Justice Breyer, already received significant support from Demand Justice during her confirmation to the D.C. Circuit.

Between the heavy influence Demand Justice has within the Biden Administration and the unlimited liberal dark money the group is willing to spend, all should be concerned that Biden's Supreme Court nominee will be the choice of dark money and not of independent judicial merit.
