Moderate No More: Biden Signals He is Caving on Court Packing

Moderate No More: Biden on Court Packing

Some say Democrat Party Nominee Vice President Biden is a moderate or center left.  Whether he was once or not, he is now going as far left as he can.  In the past Joe Biden was adamant against adding Justices to the Supreme Court, also known as Court Packing.

Biden stated in October, 2019:

"I would not get into court packing … We begin to lose any credibility the court has at all."

But now:

As Powerline’s John Hinderaker responds to that video:

I think we can take it that the answer is “yes,” but don’t look for any “mainstream” reporters to press Biden on the issue.

Since Democrats are fond of quoting Justice Ginsberg, we’ll quote Justice Ginsberg on court packing from last year:

"Nine seems to be a good number. It's been that way for a long time," she said, adding, "I think it was a bad idea when President Franklin Roosevelt tried to pack the court." . . .

"If anything would make the court look partisan," she said, "it would be that — one side saying, 'When we're in power, we're going to enlarge the number of judges, so we would have more people who would vote the way we want them to.' "

That impairs the idea of an independent judiciary, she said.

"We are blessed in the way no other judiciary in the world is," she noted. "We have life tenure. The only way to get rid of a federal judge is by impeachment. Congress can't retaliate by reducing our salary, so the safeguards for judicial independence in this country, I think, are as great or greater than anyplace else in the world."

Democrats need to heed the words of liberal icon Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.  Americans need to realize that on court packing, as with every other issue, Joe Biden will cave his once firmly held beliefs for the whims of the far left.
