RNLA in the News: Michigan's Mismanaged Voter Rolls Undermine Election Confidence

Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) Membership Director Anna Dean, a Michigan native and a veteran of Michigan politics, is featured in The Detroit News with a guest column exposing how the mismanaged voter rolls in Michigan pose a threat to election confidence.

From Michigan's mismanaged voter rolls undermine election confidence:

Despite being touted by Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson as a model for the country, Michigan’s election administration is a mess and threatens to undermine election confidence in the upcoming presidential race.

Days after Benson told the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee under oath that the state’s “voter rolls are clean,” the Republican National Committee (RNC) filed a lawsuit against her claiming the opposite is true.

The suit is the latest in a string of challenges filed against Benson for her mismanagement of elections and failure to follow both state and federal laws. Different groups, such as the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF), have also alleged that Michigan has bloated voter registration rolls. Yet, each time, the Secretary manages to evade accountability by merely promising to fulfill her responsibilities.
