Leading up to the impending U.S. Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Womens Health Organization, which will decide whether all pre-viability prohibitions on elective abortions are unconstitutional, Republicans keep winning in the courts while liberals resort to violence. 

One of these Republican wins happened today in the Iowa Supreme Court, which held that abortion "rights" are not protected by the state constitution, a move that paves the way for lawmakers to strengthen pro-life laws in the state.

The Iowa Supreme Court upended all hopes of pro-abortion activists today in its ruling, finding that “the Iowa Constitution is not the source of a fundamental right to an abortion necessitating a strict scrutiny standard of review for regulations affecting that right.” 

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds issued a statement on the Iowa Supreme Court’s ruling:

“Today’s ruling is a significant victory in our fight to protect the unborn. The Iowa Supreme Court reversed its earlier 2018 decision, which made Iowa the most abortion-friendly state in the country. Every life is sacred and should be protected, and as long as I’m governor that is exactly what I will do.”

And as the U.S. Supreme Court’s leaked draft opinion in Dobbs shows, pro-life Republicans are likely to have another win as the Court is poised to strike down Roe v. Wade and Casey v. Planned Parenthood after decades of legal battles in every court across the nation.

But as the Republicans establish strong pro-life wins in the courts, liberals are ramping up violent demonstrations as the pro-abortion movement suffers loses in court. 

As the RNLA highlighted late last week, numerous pro-life pregnancy centers have been firebombed and vandalized as the "pro-choice" movement has turned violent against those who chose options other than abortion. These centers provide invaluable services and alternative choices to young mothers and pregnant women.

And even after a failed assassination attempt against Justice Kavanaugh, radical pro-abortion activists have been protesting in front of Conservative Supreme Court Justices’ homes and threatening their children.  President Biden, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and other prominent Democrats refuse to stop or condemn the violence. 

But even as much as the mainstream media incessantly tries to demonize conservatives for standing for life, their efforts continue fall flat.  

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, an overtly pro-abortion Justice and arguably the most liberal Justice on the Supreme Court, gave a compassionate ode to the only Supreme Court Justice officially on the record for being pro-life, Clarence Thomas, on Thursday at an American Constitution Society event. 

I suspect I have probably disagreed with him more than with any other justice, that we have not joined each other's opinions more than anybody else. And yet, Justice Thomas is the one justice in the building that literally knows every employee’s name…He is a man who cares deeply about the court as an institution, about the people who work there, but about people.

Justice Sotomayor’s cordiality and respect for Justice Thomas comes as yet another blow to liberals who incessantly attack the court’s most outspokenly pro-life Justice.  It is shameful that congressional and executive branch Democrats not only won't follow Justice Sotomayor's lead, they also won't strongly condemn the violence of the pro-abortionist extremists. 

One thing is certain, Republicans will continue to fight for and achieve pro-life wins as they wait in hopeful anticipation for the Supreme Court to rectify a historic wrong in the coming Dobbs decision.
