Never Forget it was Joe Biden who Started the Judicial Confirmation "Madness"

While the Democrats seem to continuously reward bad actors who falsely accuse, such as Rep. Adam Schiff, with leadership roles, it looks as if they know will award the original such bad actor with their party's Presidential nomination.  The original bad guy Chairman may have been presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden.  Biden was the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee when the term “borking" was created after the travesty done to Judge Robert Bork.  As Webster’s defines "bork": “to attack or defeat (a nominee or candidate for public office) unfairly through an organized campaign of harsh public criticism or vilification.”

While Judge Bork has passed away, another one of the victims of unfair attacks, Justice Clarence Thomas, still sits on the Supreme Court bench.  Justice Thomas blasts the former Vice President in a documentary entitled 'Created Equal: Clarence Thomas In His Own Words' coming Monday to PBS. Thomas says of Biden:

Thomas noted that the Judiciary Committee under Biden’s leadership wanted to target him to protect the court’s ruling on Roe v. Wade. He didn’t mention Biden by name, but he highlighted Biden’s line of questioning about natural law during the hearings.

"I have no idea what he was talking about. I understood what he was trying to do. I didn't really appreciate it," he explained. "Natural law was nothing more than a way of tricking me into talking about abortion."

What Biden did then is extremely relevant in today's political environment, as was shown by Justice Kavanaugh’s confirmation (emphasis added). 

Thomas, 71, was featured in a yet-to-be-released documentary in which he describes his chaotic confirmation to the court amid allegations from Anita Hill that he had sexually harassed her prior to his nomination. The justice denied ever sexually harassing anyone, but Hill’s accusations became the focus of his confirmation, similar to the confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Thomas claimed he was targeted with the allegations because of his conservative views on abortion.

Just as with Kavanaugh, an FBI investigation did not back the future Justice's politically motivated accuser:

But that, of course, was not the memory of his confirmation hearing that most consumes him. He is still haunted by Anita Hill, who came forward to say the judge sexually harassed her — a claim he vehemently denied.

The allegation had been investigated by the FBI, which said it was unfounded, but somehow, as things do in Washington, it leaked to the press.

“This was a crime,” Justice Thomas said in the two-hour documentary.

Joe Biden was in forefront of the effort to destroy men nominated to the Supreme Court on the  basis of groundless accusations because they are conservative.  Joe Biden mark on history is not one he should be proud of.
