After the failed S. 1 effort, the Democrats' latest effort at a federal takeover of our elections, the incorrectly named “Freedom to Vote Act, was described by Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell thusly:

No amount of repackaging or relabeling will let Democrats sneak through big pieces of the sweeping, partisan, federal takeover of our nation’s elections that they have wanted to pass since they took power.

Seemingly every few weeks, Democrats take another run at this. This week’s latest ‘compromise’ is just a compromise between the left and the far left. It’s the product of Washington Democrats negotiating with each other about how much power they should grab. It contains many of the same fatal flaws as their previous attempted takeovers that have already fallen flat. . . .

We will not be letting Washington Democrats abuse their razor-thin majorities in both chambers to overrule state and local governments and appoint themselves a national Board of Elections on steroids.

On Tuesday, Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita announced that he and other Republican attorneys general have submitted a letter to congressional leadership in opposition to H.R. 4, Nancy Pelosi's elections power-grab: 

In a letter to congressional leaders, Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita warns that a reckless piece of legislation under consideration on Capitol Hill “would allow the United States Department of Justice to usurp the authority states rightly possess over their own elections, essentially federalizing the election system.”

The September 13th protest by liberals in front of Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s home was too much even for Senate Democrats. 

Senate Judiciary Committee members from both parties denounced a protest targeting the Maryland home of Justice Brett Kavanaugh, saying the families and homes of government officials are not fair game.  . . .

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) similarly criticized protests targeting public figures’ homes.

“We all know that you have to have a tough mental hide to be in this business,” Durbin said. But “it is absolutely unacceptable from my point of view to involve and major public figure’s family or their home, or to involve yourself in criminal trespass in the name of political freedom of speech.”

“There are proper venues to express yourself and I don’t believe a person’s home or their family should be fair game in this business,” he added.

As the liberal justices grow older and as the conservative majority decides an increased number of controversial cases, the Supreme Court is feeling more pressure from the Left. The Justice feeling it the most is Justice Stephen Breyer. Despite Justice Breyer generally championing the viewpoints of the Left, many are pressuring him to retire so the President can nominate a younger justice to replace him.

Last Thursday, President Joe Biden announced what effectively amounts to a nationwide COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The Federalist reported:

The Biden administration will force private-sector employers to mandate all of their employees either get the COVID-19 shot or produce a negative test weekly.

Saturday marks the 20th anniversary of September 11, 2001, a day that forever changed the United States. The George W. Bush Presidential Library recounts:

On September 11, 2001 (9/11), nineteen terrorists from the militant Islamist terrorists group al-Qaeda, hijacked four commercial airplanes in a coordinated attack on the United States of America. These terrorists used the aircraft to attack the World Trade Center buildings and the Pentagon. The fourth plane, Flight 93, crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after passengers on the aircraft stormed the cockpit. That Tuesday morning 2,977 people were killed.

President Biden has officially withdrawn David Chipman as his nominee for Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Upon his nomination, Chipman quickly became a controversial figure due to his anti-Second Amendment activism and work with gun control groups. It appears as though the bipartisan pushback and suspected lack of votes caused the President to withdraw the nomination.

Today's critical race theory ("CRT") curriculum seeks to "de-centralize whiteness," and schools around the country are beginning to separate students and teachers by race—a practice that civil rights activists of the 20th century devoted their lives to abolish. Schools are creating "diversity, inclusion, and equity" committees; teachers must confess their racist tendencies; and students must participate in "privilege walks," where white students take three steps forward and black students take five steps backwards to represent their oppressed status.

Governor Greg Abbott of Texas has signed an election integrity bill into law today—one that had sent Democrats running from the state in July in an attempt to block its passage.

Election integrity is now LAW in Texas.

This law:
▪️ Ensures every eligible voter gets to vote
▪️ Adds more hours to vote
▪️ Makes it harder for fraudulent votes to be cast
▪️ Makes ballot harvesting a 3rd degree felony
