Senate Judiciary Republicans led by Chuck Grassley are calling on Chairman Dick Durbin to call a hearing on President Joe Biden's worsening border crisis:

Late Wednesday night, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to grant an injunction to suspend a Texas law which effectively bans most abortions from taking place once a fetal heartbeat is detected. The law went into effect on Wednesday morning after the Court declined to grant the request to the Court before the law took effect. Fox News reported: 

The court voted 5-4 to deny an emergency appeal from abortion providers and others that sought to block enforcement of the law that went into effect Wednesday. But the justices also suggested that their order likely isn't the last word on whether the law can stand because other challenges to it can still be brought . . .

Another election reform bill is headed to the desk of a Republican governor. On Tuesday, the Texas Legislature approved SB 1 after Democrats attempted to block the legislation by fleeing the state in July. The New York Post reported:

The Texas Senate voted 18-13 along party lines to pass the measure after the House voted 80-41 to approve it.

Earlier this week, Michigan Republicans announced that they would be supporting a petition campaign by Secure MI Vote to enact various election reforms in the state. The petition process allows the proposal to be enacted without approval from the state's Democrat governor, Gretchen Whitmer.

After passing the House last week with no Republican support, H.R. 4's next stop is the U.S. Senate. Democrats in the Senate need all the support they can get to pass H.R. 4, and at the center of this effort is the vote of Democrat Senator Joe Manchin. And as it stands now, Joe Manchin has no choice but to vote "no" on H.R. 4 based on his prior statements.

California is set to vote on whether to recall Governor Gavin Newsom on Tuesday, September 14th. RNLA Co-Chair Harmeet Dhillion recently appeared on "Tucker Carlson Tonight" to discuss the election.

Today marks the deadliest day for U.S. combat forces in a decade. At least 12 members of the U.S. military were killed in a suicide bombing outside of the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan.

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court denied the Biden Administration's request to block a Texas federal court's order to reinstate the Trump-era "Remain in Mexico" policy. The Court explained:

Two potential instances of voter fraud have been discovered in California. A Democrat city councilman has been charged with conspiracy to commit election fraud and attempted bribery, and in a separate incident, 300 gubernatorial recall ballots were found in the vehicle of a "passed out felon."

On Monday, H.R. 4 was heard in the House Rules Committee. This will likely be the bill's only committee hearing before a vote is taken by the whole House sometime later this week. If this seems strange, it is. House Rules does not typically have jurisdiction over election issues. Yet despite this, the Committee is being used as a vehicle to add amendments to the legislation.
